how to stop antenna from going up with cd player

i have a '97 integ with the stock cd player. every time i turn it on to listen to a cd, the antenna still comes up. i was told that i can somehow make a switch for it to go up and down, and put it in one of the spaces around the e-brake, but how do i do it?

you can put a switch whereever you want. i dont know what whoever told you was talking about, but im assuming it just involves adding the switch in the power line that brings the antenna up. i never use the radio, so i just unplugged mine.

yea, you can do that ... locate the wire from the CD player that raises the antenna - cut the wire, then run a wire from each cut end to the place you want to attach the switch. I doesn't matter which end you attach to what side of the switch.

My mom's Crown Victoria has such a switch. It shouldn't be too hard, just a matter of locating the wire so you can toggle power to it on and off. The CV has an analog one though. You can make the antena however long you want it to be.
