sr20 swap

i plan on swapping a sr20 det engine in my 95 200sx. i plan on taking the engine from an infinity G20. i was wondering if i needed to swap the transmission to or is it the same trans? please let me know. thanks

Maybe im just under-informed, but isnt the G20 engine just an SRDE? Not a DET?

Yes, the G20 motor is just an SR20DE. You're probably talking about a Japanese G20(which is called the Nissan Primera). And no, your car will be slower if you take the G20 tranny. Keep your 200SX tranny. This swap will only work if you have a 200SX SE-R.

VG30 powered Maxima SE: 60mph-7.8, 1/4mi.-15.8 sec.

All of these parts from an SE-R:
Engine
Transmission
Wiring Harness
Axels
ECU
Radiator
Motor Mounts
Thermastat
PowerSteering Pump
Instrument Cluster

There are a few things I am missing, but this is a basic list from the top of my head (You can tell I have considered the swap a few times )

no point in taking a g20 engine, unless its an OBD-I high port.
use any SR20DE from like 91-93 and get all the parts listed above for the best swap. if you really want a DET, you have to import it.
