SRT4 vs. Bullitt

I was finally able to make it out to the Sonic meet that goes down every Friday(I got off work way early) so me and my friend went. I saw my buddy that drives an acr srt and he said I should run his friend with a Mustang Bullitt GT. I no absolutely nothing about mustangs besides the GT part so agree. I think they said it was like the Cobra just minus the charger...? So we leave the car meet and get on the feeder, drive around a few times to make sure of no cops and then get ready around 30mph. He tells me to honk so I oblige. Third honk I guess he wasn't thinking and gave a delayed reaction, by the end I had about 6-7 cars if not a little more on him. We make a U and go again, this time he gets it on the 3rd honk(from a 30mph), and at around 105mph I have roughly 4-5 cars on him. We were going to do from a stop but there were people behind us so we couldn't Also on the 2nd race I missed fourth so I it was only from a 2-3 gear pull.

He had some minor stuff done to his car, catback and intake(I think it was), and I was running 18.5psi with about an 11.2 a/f. He had himself and some skiiiiiiinnny maybe 85lb chick and I had me and 2 other full sized dudes in my car. Good races I think, also good thing I spent yesterday double clamping everything/ziptieing and doing a boost leak test(no leaks )

Edit> I just looked up so info. on his car and he should be into the mid. 13's with his basic mods. Does anyone know how much time 4-5 cars would translate too? My estimate(with good 60 foot) is a 13.0 for me and probably a 13.5-.6 for him. Does that sound right?

Re: SRT4 vs. Bullitt

I think the bullitts are low 14 to high 13's. The mach 1's are the ones that run mid to low 13's

Good Kill/s

And yeah, the bullits are just a special edition GT. The only performance upgrade they really have is a bullit intake.

Re: SRT4 vs. Bullitt

The stock Bullit is nothing to brag about. It's more of an appearance package then anything. Last I recall they were rated at 265hp. They have a different intake manifold, which really didn't seem to add that much power, as i've seen alot of them in the rags post a 14.0 sec. 1/4 mile.

I would think that your car being a stage one would put down a 13.4-13.6 sec. 1/4 mile with good traction. Hard to tell you a 1/4 mile time, as most people beat the driver in another car, more so then the car itself.

I've seen people post kills on a Z06 Corvette, but the reality of it is that they beat the driver 8 times out of 10.

Re: SRT4 vs. Bullitt

I thought there used to be a guy in here with a Bullet 'Stang. I thought he said there were some other good things about it besides the intake...although they were more for future tuning purposes.

Re: SRT4 vs. Bullitt

I wasn't bragging about it just posting a race I had at one of the car shows. I was talking to one of my friends that road with me and he said it was more like 5-6 cars for the second race and 7-8 for the first. The car should be an estimated 13.0-.1 with a good 60ft(I have a lot more stuff than just stage1)I didn't have traction before but I have the swaybars/tensioners now so I can actually go wot in first with only a minor chirp of the wheels

I'm not saying that you are bragging, just that the Bullit wasn't all that great a car as it was originally made out to be (For the record I believe the car also has a different windage tray then the GT Stang).

If you have the equivalent of a stage 2 you should be able to cut a 12.9 sec. 1/4 mile in optimal conditions and on good rubber. Some guy at the track I go to cuts 1.9 sec. 60' times and 12.9 sec. 1/4 mile at 106-107mph in his stage 2 SRT-4.

Potent cars to say the least. Big time difference between the stage 2 and 3 package (I've seen stage 3's in the high 11's).
