Front caliper bleed screw frozen '93

I have a bleed screw frozen on a front caliper. Both front calipers are original and work great. I do not want to replace the entire caliper just for the bleed screw.

Any suggestions on getting it out? Where can I find replacement bleed screws? I checked at Autozone, Advance and O'Reily, and NAPA and no one has them.

Did you open/vent the system yet? If not, there may be no need to open the bleeder. If you simply remove the master cylinder cover and force the caliper piston back into its bore you should not need to bleed the system.

If you need to bleed the system for whatever reason, a long duration soaking with penetrating oil can help. Some of the better products for this are B'Laster!PB and Kroil. Apply some of this every couple days for a week or so prior to the job, and you will have a better chance of breaking the bleeder loose without damage. If you already have the caliper off, remove the dust boot, blow out the piston, remove the seals, and heat the area surrounding the bleeder to assist in in breaking free. You should heat the surrounding area and not he screw directly, or you can anneal the screw to the point of twisting it off with little effort.

I twisted one off on my 92 when I was bleeding the brakes. I didn't really want to replace the capliper either. But when I called and found the price was around $25 each, I bought a new one for each side. They were too cheap not to buy both....
