What is you Fav Wax/Polish ?

What is you Fav Wax/Polish ?
I'm not talking about compounds, but wax/polish to finially finish off that paintwork.
I use Tamiya Wax, but that only due the fact that is all I have.
Is there a Dog's Boll*cks wax out there, I'm missing out on ?

I use Tamiya wax too, I heard 'The Treatment Final Detail' wax is supposedly better but I tried it and wasn't impressed so reverted to Tamiya wax.

Re: What is you Fav Wax/Polish ?

Really like The Treatment for an overall wax. . .

Luckily I scored a couple of huge tubes for six bucks each a while back. . .

Other then that any run of the mill wax or polish right off the shelf from the auto parts store. Usually look for the cheapest which turn out to be the best for what I'm usin' it for. . .

Re: What is you Fav Wax/Polish ?

Steve,

When I was in the UK last summer I bought a bunch of Maguire's waxes from Halfords - AWSOME stuff!
Doesn't affect paint at all in my (limited) experience but boy does it bring up a shine!

I also use the Maguires wax to polish up clear parts - it's somewhere there in the tutorial section with a photo.

Scratch-X is a compound really - good stuff though.

I use Meguiars products on my 1:1 car, I have some Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax, I'll give that a go.
Thanks Guys

That's real! My wife said me "if you only spent all that money for a cream from my hands I'll more cute" Yes I use Tamiya and it's smell very good.

I've a related question: do you note a certain "electrostatic" proprierty on you stuff after waxing? have you some tip to release that eletricity? I think a good washing after polishing could make something but after wax.. no way

Re: What is you Fav Wax/Polish ?

My personal favourite wax is a product called "MER", I use it after polishing the model with "G3", that's a product used in automotive refinishing. I've also used "The Treatment" detail wax and found that to be very good but it's a touch expensive.

Re: What is you Fav Wax/Polish ?

I have noticed less static with maguires. Also why dont you attach one of those stips to tha back bumper to discharge static like in 1:1 cars? Not only very effective but a whole new dimension of detailing!!

BTW I got a PM from Mrs. Gio asking me the REAL prices of your modelling supplies ... I lied to her, too

Re: What is you Fav Wax/Polish ?

I use Tamiya wax because it smells good as Thesaint mentioned and it gets me good finishing results. Actually, it makes me a little dizzy and lightheaded, and it reminds me of my past, wild paint and glue sniffing days hahahaha.... well... I still do it, that's why I do modeling, its a perfect legal cover. J/K. I've yet to try some of the finishes that the others use here, but I think I might try it to continually improve my modeling skills.
