02 cabrio driver side window stops

Anybody else have a problem with their windows stopping halfway up when nothing is in it way?

my dirvers side window stops halfway up, and goes back down, would this be a problem with the window safety feature?

My 2001 Cabrio had the same problem when I purchased it last year. My independent VW repair said that it would take a new window regulator at about $200 for the part to repair. I dropped it off and it stopped having the problem!

Good thing since some other items took up that $200

I have seen this alot on cabrios.
There can be many of things wrong.
1) window improperly adjusted (yes you can adjust them on cabrios)
2) regulator is bad
3) motor is bad. The load sensor is actually in the motor itsself and if the car sits alot or over the winter the contacts can become corroded inside the motor and the module can pick this up and think its a hand in the window and stop and make it roll back down.

We had the same problem in both windows in a 2001 at the same time & like the previous post says, it was the regulator for both.
