95 cavalier auto trans issue
Ok, I have a 95 cavalier that I bought 2 years ago for $500, so I'm not looking to put any money into this thing. It has ran well for the past 2 years......until now.
It seems almost as if I am overheating the transmission. It is a 2.2L with a 3 speed auto, 130k miles. After long drives on the highway at 75-80mph, it will not downshift. The car will continue to act this way until it has sat for some time and cooled off. I do enjoy working on cars, but have never dealt with an automatic transmission before, so I'm looking for an idea of where to look. I have checked/changed the ATF several times, and it is not leaking. Anyone have some idea of what might be going on here? TIA, Eric |

Re: 95 cavalier auto trans issue
if you don't care about the car, toss it and buy another one
