Unhappy beyond me

Hey guys sorry, I have a bunch of quetions and no help. I very much aperciate all the help. Well I'm currently trying to change all the peanut butter interior into black interior. Now dont get me wrong I'm a noob but not a dummy. I did all the seats, carpet, door panels and the kick panels i switched all of those simple things out. But the main problems consist of:: how do i change out the stock steering wheel with out setting off the bag? Also how do i change out the cover of the passenger air bag again with out setting it off? I have a 97 mustang and I need some help Thank you very much to those who help me!

Re: beyond me

The main thing about airbags is that they are activated by electrical current...so the first and foremost thing to do is to disconnect the battery cable...then let the car sit there with the battery calbe disconnected for 30 minutes or so...then you can safely remove the airbags...just be sure that you don't ground any of the electrical connections when doing so as any kind of static spark is capable of setting them off as well...
