DPFI - MPFI swap

ok my friend is parting out his old SI engine, but keeping the harness and ECU from it, anyway does anyone know what parts i need to convert my dirty old DPFI to MPFI?

also my car is an automatic, and i was reading a how to on the swap, but it said manual trannies only, what would be different on my auto?

In my opinion it's kind of a waste of time and money. Why not just get an Si engine and drop that in.

cuz the engine he is ditching is leaking oil, and has alot of miles on it.

my engine has only 90k and runs mint, plus i get the same HP as the Si after this swap, plus it is an easy upgrade.

You'll have less torque because DX has 1.5 and Si 1.6

Parts:

Intake manifold
Injectors
ECU
Fuel rail
Injector resistor box
Si head (optional)
Si Distributor

Misc stuff:

Coolant hose
Extra wire

I would go for it. It is a cheap upgrade that will give you some extra power. Good Luck

because, it's the first thing that is needed to be done before you drop in a Si engine, ZC, b16, or any other engine for that matter. it is something good to do period...can i get an Amen 91ZC?

i don't know what parts you need. i was lazy...i just went out and got a Si (hehehe). anyways, i do have this little piece of info:

don't try to switch the ecu & not distro....or the other way around. you need to keep them from the same model of car. it will idle really rough...might not even keep an idle at all. (doh!)

if you're friend is gonna hook ya up for like $50-$100, i'd say do it :jump:

this was also talked about a little bit before http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t56531.html

And to 1990civic - dont come in here busting out your exclamation marks and shit about his upgrades, and who the hell cares if he has an auto, we are all brothers (and sisters) here.

OoOo, I have a 4 door, does this somehow make me stupider than the hatch / crx owners because I have a 4 door? First you come in here dissing auto's and now this? Not only have you offended me, you have probably offended the following people;

91zc
daddys
DarkImportGrey
sastanley
4G4D Store
91civcex4dr
Redline_civic91
91b16sedan

just to name a few anyhow.

Conclusion: I will play nice if you do, us 88-91'ers are like a family, and although there are some hatch/crx guys that dont really care for the sedan, they still respect us because we all share a common interest, we have 4th gens (or are fans) and we like them, so we come here to AF to talk about em and ask questions. Just because you may not be a big fan of the MPFI swap doesent mean someone else cant do it and as crxlvr mentioned earlier, he is getting a great price on the parts. So shape up, I am sure you will become a valued member of our forum but if not ship out, we dont need haters here.

And mod's if I overstepped my bounds as a regular member, I apoligise in advance.

i have the ULTIMATE MPFI swap in my car its basically a DX block/head/tranny and the rest is my stock Si stuff...well you see, i bought a DX motor for 100 bucks and put it in my car to get me around til i get the beasty 1.6 rebuilt..but MAN DX motors in an Si are slow like a mofo, i think its due to the fact that my car weighs more than the DX car. I think im gonna have to put my web-cam outta my Si head in the DX head to give the car a little more go..
