I dont know if any of this is true. If it is, he definitely doesn't represent muslims. I'll tell you why when I find his quote what he used from the Qu'ran. Now back to the story. No media is allowed in the courtroom. Aren't any of you guys are suspicious about that? Sure you provided a link but all it shows is that he says she says they say we say type. I want to see footage, that hasn't been tampered with either. After all...those are just words that can be all made up. Im just stating my view on this....

In a lengthy explanation of why he hates Americans, Moussaoui said Islam requires Muslims to be the world's superpower as he flipped through a copy of the Quran searching for verses to support his assertion. He said one verse requires Muslims "to fight against all who believe ot in Allah."

Thats the partial quote from Chapter 9 verse 29.

Heres the full verse..

9:29Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Apostle, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.


Sure it sounds bad but this is the most famous chapter for islamaphobes to use PARTIAL quotes to ridicule Islam and to make us seem evil. I believe i've stated this before on this site, to understand the meaning of the verse you'd have to read the verses before and after! Or read the whole chapter and the chapter begins with this...

So, share your conspiracy theories with us. We've heard a lot of things related to 9/11. Are you saying that the news reports are all false, and we shouldn't believe any of the information we've read?

Did Moussaoui say any of the things attributed to him? I'd be willing to read anything you want to contribute to set the record straight. Go for it.

Well haven't the media lied before? I already caught them for using partial quote from the Qur'an.From my experiance, ppl who tends to use partial quote are only hurting the image of Islam. SO why should I consider this a reliable source?? Media is only good for local news. Should you believe what they say about that Moussaoui when NO ONE here has seen the footage of the courtroom?

It's also possible that he only read excerpts from the Koran, and that's why it was reported incorrectly. I'm not ready to assume he read it all in proper context, nor should you, if you question everything reported. I can agree that it is possible the news reports aren't accurate in that regard.

They all got the same account of the testimony, and they are willing to stick their credibility on the line in reporting it.

They could all be lying through their teeth. Since they're all westerners, I guess they might have an axe to grind on this one. As for whether or not they give an accurate portrayal of his representation of what it means to be an Islamist, I can not say. Nor do I care. Maybe it is a conspiracy against Islam as well. Who can say?

One thing seems to be well accepted; he has no remorse, and he has nothing but contempt for the western world, and the US in general. He can hold whatever beliefs he wishes, that's fine with me.

Once they either put him out of his misery, or lock him away in a tight place for the rest of his existence, it's over for him. Oh well. That works for me.

Perhaps something was lost in translation but the entire verse isn't any different than the shortened version. It's just tacking on a longer list of things to fight against and saying "keep at it until they are all under our rule".

The definition of "Jizya" as I've seen it being a tax of sorts on those non-muslims living under islamic rule. The purpose of which was to demonstrate that even if a person wasn't a muslim in the faith, they were subdued under islam and thus agreeable to it.
