Re: starting problems on 93 grand voyager

What engine? If a 3.3/3.8, look at replacing the cam and crank sensors. If a 3.0, the optical sensor. When the sensors fail, they shut down the ASD system, which won't allow the engine to start. There are numerous threads on here that explain it far better than I can. Hope this helps. As for your steering problem, afraid that's something I let the experts look at. Sorry I can't help you there.

Re: starting problems on 93 grand voyager

You can look them up at www.autozone.com. They have the repair manuals online there, just for future reference.

I looked these up for you:

Crankshaft position sensor: UNDER HOOD, CENTER, REAR ENGINE AREA, WHERE TRANSAXLE BELLHOUSING MEETS ENGINE, MOUNTED IN ENGINE BLOCK

Camshaft position sensor: UNDER HOOD, PASSENGER SIDE, UPPER ENGINE AREA, MOUNTED ON REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF THROTTLE VALVE UNIT

Hope this helps.

Re: starting problems on 93 grand voyager

Like a spark plug in the block. Have read the crank sensor comes with a paper spacer and it is vital to make sure you install it with the spacer, otherwise the sensor misreads the distance and you get problems.

Re: starting problems on 93 grand voyager

We got it fixed! It ended up being the starting relay. Thanks for your help.

Re: starting problems on 93 grand voyager

The side to side jerking could be caused by an inner CV joint. Chrysler and others use plunge type inner CV joints. Classic signs of a plunge joint failure are steering wheel jerking side to side usually associated with a clunk noise. Which CV joint was changed?

Re: starting problems on 93 grand voyager

What do you mean by dies on the road?
Does the starter crank and it just keeps cranking? Check the fuel pump.
It's either no spark or no gas.

Re: starting problems on 93 grand voyager

While u are driving the battery is getting drained until the van just stops running.and you can't start the van right away you have to wait. Then the battery drains again while you are driving.
