Exhaust headers

does anyone know where i can get exhaust headers for my car?? i have a 3.4L 2000 GT1 with a superflow catback 40 series, 2 1/2" flowmaster exhaust system....i can only seem to find the headers for the 2.2L or 2.4L. i need more front-end pressure and the headers would definitely help. thanks, i appreciate any feedback!

Re: Exhaust headers

Checkout S&S Headers:

http://www.ssheaders.com/V6.htm

Doctorspeed used to have the Old Guys Headers (TOG) for the GA 3.4 but I don't see it listed anymore.

Yeah Xero, I see what you mean. S&S headers prices look good though. Most headers will come with the woven flex joint. I have one on my GTP with SLP headers. The real purpose of the flex joint is to minimize vibrations inherent in the exhaust system that may cause welds on the headers to crack or pass vibrations into the remainder of the exhaust system and vice versa. In conjunction with the headers it is a good idea to go to a larger diameter downpipe (2.5" - 3.0") ID and a CAT with bigger inlet/outlet. If that much is going to be spent then it is best to get your monies worth out of the mod and do it right. Headers seem like a great mod for the 3.4L.

Re: Exhaust headers

Ya Bob, I didnt use that flex pipe with my headers
I thought it might leak, so I didnt even fuss with it.

And I Welded a 3' down pipe, I havnt seen any cracks yet, but who knows as time goes by.

I'm Hoping nothing does break or crack, now you've got me worried Bob!

Its up to you whether you use it. I don't see any problems with your setup. I was just passing on the reason for the woven flex joint. We never used them in the old days. If you were running a turbo or supercharger I'd recommend staying with it because the vibrations could cause false knock sensor activity which is critical with those forced air devices. Wouldn't want to lose a race because the PCM decides to screw with timing advance. You'll know if a weld ever lets loose anyways because of the noise it will generate. Sounds like you are good to go.

Tail end rattled once when I broke the lower trans mount, but I fixed that.
