Battle Wounds

So, I started my 100K partial tune-up today. It has about 99,4xx on her so, I figured it'll happen sooner or later. I say partial because I ain't goin' anywhere close to the damn opti (except for the wires of course). I don't have too much experience working on cars, but I didn't think it would be too difficult. I was wrong! Everything is straight forward but just getting to everything and trying to get a socket on them is a biotch. I started at around noon today and stopped around 8pm and still have 2 plugs and 2 wires to finish up. I didn't eat lunch or use the bathroom, I worked pretty much the entire 8 hours non-stop, except for the profanity, internet tips and water, and I STILL HAVE 2 left. There's really no point to this post except for me to vent to some people who will actually understand my pain. After washing up, I have scrapes from elbow to fingertip on both arms. I only broke one old plug but that's about it. Well, I do have one quesiton, I got the MSD 8.5mm wires and I have 9 wires, and I can't quite figure out where the extra one goes. Any help please? Oh yeah, an the passenger side, is it really important to get the wires through the guide clip, because I can't really see it and don't look forward to messing with it. Thanks, sorry for the long post.

Re: Battle Wounds

if you're facing the engine it would be on the front of it below your right hand valve cover.... you can just follow the wire from the opti if you want

Re: Battle Wounds

so if this is your first shot at a tune-up..good job! out of all the tuneups i have done i think i have only pulled out about 3 spark plugs that i didnt break...iv'e never broke a new one though......i gave up a while back at pulling out complete sparkplugs...that the first thing i do, break them and pick up the peices or else i'll break them and have no idea where they went

Re: Battle Wounds

I feel your pain, went through the same thing with my headers. As far as the guide clip your talking about, I think that's to keep you wires from roasting on the exaust manifold or anything else that's hot around there. You might not need it but when those wires heat up they're as plyable as a noodle so it might be a good idea to make sure they're going to stay away from anything hot.
