headlight question

Dont make fun of me, I know, I just wasnt careful.

I broke the black round thing that holds the bulb in place with.....Can I get that somewhere, or do I have to jimmy something up to hold the bulb in place. anywhere they sell parts like that. I tried a junk yard, used parts and even GM....all wanted well over 150 for a replacement headlight. the whole assembly.

Thanks

Re: headlight question

i did the same thing when i fisrt got my grand am i wanted to put some xenon blues in and i broke the black retaining clamps i paid 20 bucks a piece for them so 40$ all together youll have to order them from the dealer ship dont try to hold them in place with anything else, you could end up breaking the bulb and it wouldnt be fun cleaning the shattered glass out of the lense. you might have to adjust your lights as well.

Re: headlight question

I hav broke many of these stupid rings.
They are so flimsy, about $10-12 each from the stealershit.

Ya I woundnt try a rig it with tape or anything, might catch fire, those things get realy damn Hot.
Thats why the rings break, because of the wrong type of plastic. Should be thicker everywhere.

Re: headlight question

Hi friends... Here is the G.M. part number for the retainer rings....
G.M. part no. 16524656

You can buy them online at GMpartsdirect.com; and the are $7.42 each.
These newer ones are made out of a stronger plastic, because the older ones were breaking so easy. G.M. finally came out with stronger ones...... These new ones are stamped with "rev 5"; that is the latest version no. 5.

Hope this helps.... Take care everyone.

Tommy

EDIT >>> I forgot to mention that if you go to that GM website, just enter that part number into the search box in the upper-left side of the page; then click "go".
