Smile Oil is gone.....Help!

My 99 honda accord ex is using oil. It is not smoking or leaking. What could be the cause of my oil just going away? It was using about a quart every week.

Thanks,
Pam

That's a lot of oil. Are you sure it isn't leaking or burning out the tail pipe? Maybe last time you got an oil change the filter wasn't tightened all the way or something. Oh yeah, welcome to AF...

Re: Oil is gone.....Help!

I never thought about the oil filter not being tight. One mechanic found a small leak, but not one that would use a whole quart in one weeks time. I am just at a loss. I tried Duralube and it worked ok for about 2 weeks. I think I am going to try Rislon next time or just try everything each oil change, maybe something will work. It's like it evaporates......weird! Thanks for the replies.

Re: Oil is gone.....Help!

Very strange... You havent seen any oil on the ground??lol If you were using that much the car would be running horrible and have very low gas milage. Im glad that you caught it before it really did something bad.
