A/C problem with 01 Impala

Has about 101,000 miles. Had a new A/C compressor, etc. installed late last summer. Now A/C unit shuts down. I am told that is shuts down because the engine is overheating.

Engine is not overheating, according to the gauges. Any suggestions? I was told it could be the ECM???

Re: A/C problem with 01 Impala

does the A/C light flicker then go out. Then you have to keep punching the button ? if so , i can't remember where i saw it on this forum, i think it was in the Malibu section. There is a link to a cleaning guide. what i mentioned above and / or the a/c switching to vent. The control head needs cleaning. Takes a couple of minutes to complete the hardest part is dismantling part of the dash.

No lights blink. The only thing that happens is when I feel the A/C go off the temp gauge quits working.
