Need some power supras not getting respect around here

I got a 1988 non/turbo i installed the k&n and went with 2 and a half piping the obvious is out of the way now i need some help getting big boy power im 1 of 5 supras in the area so we dont get much respect need some help asap to put us in the respect column my main problem is the launch its slow taking off and thats my main concern need help fast

The first thing you can do is stop wasting money on your NA motor. Drop in the turbo engine. A 7MGTE is only $800 or so. Expect to spend another $1000 on an R154 trans. That is assuming you have a stick. If you have an AT then you won't need a different tranny. Make sure the ECU for the engine is correct for the transmission you have. Then start building on that. The next thing I reccomend is pick up some books on fuel injection and turbocharging. A little education goes a long way. I reccomend Forced Induction Performance Tuning, and How to Tune and Modify Engine Management Systems. Lastly please stop talking like your some idiot out of that crappy movie who's name is not worthy of mentioning. Just post up in plain english please.

umm.. i have the same problem but i was wondering do you have to go from a 5 speed to a Auto if you swap it? Also its a direct bolt up correct? And you just need the different ECU for the tranny part correct?

The 5 speed for the 7MGE(W-58), the and the 5 speed used on the 7MGTE(R-154) are different transmissions. The automatic is the same(A340E). If you have an NA auto you don't need to change transmissions. If you have a stick you will need to change your trans.

As far as the ECU goes you have to have the correct ECU for the engine. The transmission is another story. An auto trans ECU can be used with a manual trans swap, but a manual trans ECU will not run an automatic trans.
