Rattling over bumps

Does any hear a rattling under their Envoy when driving over vicious bumps or is it just my 02 Envoy? Also, if I brake hard and suddenly, it feels like the brake gets jammed and I hear something similar to a grinding sound. The brake also shakes rapidly at this point. Anyone know what this is...ABS perhaps?

The sudden and hard braking is your ABS doing it's job of pulsating so you can keep control I'm guessing. I have a 2005 Envoy with less than 9000 miles on it and it has some rattles also. I think mine maybe coming from the back of the vehicle. The windows and doors are not a tight seal either and at times you almost think the doors are ajar. This is my second Envoy and my last GM vehicle form here on out. The quality is getting worse with each passing year and model. When you pay over $35,000 for one vehicle and $49,000 for another you have every right to expect quality. This is a surprise to General Motors! They think you should accept the junk rolling off of their assembly lines and like it! WRONG!!!

I couldnt agree with you more. This Envoy is a money pit. I paid $32,500 for mine and I bet I have spent at least 6000-8000 per year on repairs. And its for things you would never expect to go worng. Just wait until you mileage gets up there.

#1 is most likely bad sway bar end links. Very common.

#2 is normal ABS activation.
