Grand Am Calipers

Ive decided to say screw GM and change my own brakes i have my power slotted rotors and brake pads, now i need new calipers cause the facotry ones are FUCKED and GM should of replaced them under warranty when i frist bought the car but they kept telling me there was nothing wrong with them, so screw them and im not buying GM parts, im trying to find some decent calipers, should i go out and buy a set of 500 dollar calipers or where can i find decent ones i live in canada so i can go get aftermarket ones from canadian tire that are pretty much factory GM brakes just without the GM certification should i just go with those and not worry about. cause im sick of the brakes pulsating and i just want to fix them, ill go with the calipers from canadian tire or NAPA. Napa is good ill go with them if anyone wants to help me thats cool, i think ive got it allc overed i have an online manual for my entire GRAND AM SE 2.4L so i guess as long as i follow the directions on there fro changing the brakes im fine .

Re: Grand Am Calipers

You know NAPA is going to end up being the place where i get my calipers cause i cant find any calipers to fit my 2001 GA SE 2.4L its impossible, there are some brake kits but i just want the calipers and they dont sell them seperatley, i want somthing by BAER or Brmbo Akebono, somthing with a history behind the company. anyone know any places to order some good performaning calipers the look is my last concern but it would be nice to have clipers that peroform well but look well too.

Re: Grand Am Calipers

if you already bought rotors slotted , and they are stock size you will be stuck with stock calipers.

Most of all the Caliper upgrades require larger rotors thats why they come in a kit all together.
But you may hav clearance issues with your fadtory rims if you get larger rotors & big calipers.

I bought a kit from Baer , both fronts about $1500 for parts & shiping. Well my stock wheels were to small, sucked big time! So one day if I get bigger rims I'll put'em to use.

Something to look for when you replace calipers is a NEW one, not one rebuilt by some guy whos in prison making like $1 a day

Dont forget to buy one of those kits with the new boots and bolts and release clips

Napa is a good place for parts, better than the outpost you were speaking of
