96 Deville Northstar uses oil??

I am considering buying a 96 DeVille w/163k and the Northstar engine at a good price ($2500) from an older man who says he has always done recommended services and recent tune-up, water pump, spark plugs etc. but said that he adds about two quarts of oil between changes. Is that normal, because it has me a little concerned?

I've got a 97 deville w/113k, pretty much the same as yours.....
it takes me about 3 qts. between oil changes, i believe its normal cos all 94-99models might have leak at the rear main seal
