would anyone know if a 2001 front grille would fit a 1998

I'm not 100% sure, but I thought the the front bumper was more of a "vee" shape on the 2001 and up whereas the pre-2001s had more of a flat bumper where the grille would snug up against it.....Might check some used cars side by side with yours.....Good luck, Glen

Had another idea.....you could check some of the web sites that sell aftermarket body parts and see if they list a different grille for the 1998 vs. 2001.....if they are interchangeable, I'm sure the aftermarket guys will list it that way......Glen

Easiest way I found to find if parts will interchange, call a big junk yard and they have a internet parts location program you wouldn't believe and they can tell you what parts will interchange in a heart beat.

EDIT - Our 2000 has the grille connected to the hood.

I don't think it will. If I remember correctly from our 98 venture, the grille was seperate from the hood - when you opened the hood, the grille was still in place. On our 01, the grille was integrated into the hood and opened with the hood. I don't think they'd be interchangeable.

will check with the junk yard and my grille is connected to my hood thats why i thought they would be compatable!!! thanks anyway guys

According to this link, 97 - 2000 use the same grill:
