hard shift when cold
Hi, I have a 97 GP GT 3.8 111,000. For the last year or so I am getting a hard shift into 2nd gear when the car is cold, as long as I'm easy on the gas it'll shift normally. When it warms up everything shifts perfect and smooth. The fluid is in good condition and at a proper level. Any input would be great , thanks.

Re: hard shift when cold
Hopefully if Troy1 sees this he can weigh in. He's a tranny tech.
Good part is it working correctly when warmed up.

Re: hard shift when cold
I guess in my opinion may things can cause harsh shifts. but with it only being on the 1-2 shift on a 4T60E the first place I would look would be at the accumulator pistons located in the pan make sure the seal is in good shape and check and see if the piston is worn around the pin that it rides up and down on. Could also be a sticky valve or high clearance in the clutch pack. The accumulator housing is marked 1-2 2-3 when you remove it you can then see those markings.
