2000 S10 Heater Core Install
Finally got tired of the leaking heater core smell and other mess so I did the research on how-to's, got quotes ($500-$750 installed) Crazy! Not for a $50 dollar part. So I went by hanes' manual which was somewhat helpful but left out lots of detail. Taking my time to get it right it took me roughly 3 hours alone but it all went smoothly. I dropped the steering column, removed the whole dash and flushed the system and all, feeling pretty confident that I was doing everything the right way instructed. Not cutting any corners I finally got it installed without a bolt or screw left and looks perfect...!
YESSS!!! After the final steps of reconnecting the battery and refilling the system with coolant I come to find that the following doesn't work.... -No power to the radio -ac and heater controls don't work -gas gauge doesn't work -power windows don't work Checked all fuses-Good Checked vacuum hoses for controls-Good Checked the only 2 harnesses that were disconnected-Good Could I have burned up the computer when disconnecting a harness? Not really good with electrical troubleshooting procedures so any suggestions on where to start would be greatly appreciated! Thanks |
