Head Gasket
Ok i am looking at buying a 88 Camaro with a fuel injected 350 the guy said it needed a head gasket i want to find out for shur if it needs a head gasket for shur be for i buy it. I know that wight smoke from the exaust is a sign of a bad head gasket. But i want to know some more things to look for to make shut it is the head gasket be for i go an buy it

Cant' really do the old bubbles in the radiator check because the heater core outlet is right there, almost made me tear my engine apart when i saw that.
End all, be all 100% answer would be a compression test. You may be delightfully surprised and find it's a leak somewhere in the intake plenum. White smoke can also be tranny fluid being sucked in past the modulator too, btw. |
