The GSX is apart, need some help.

Well I drained all the oils and stuff out of the car and I took out the exhaust manifold, the turbo is off, and the intercooler plus the piping and the intake system. I will be putting some Mobil 5w30 Mobil 1 full synthetic oil in the engine, some tranny oil like crynchymilk55 suggested but what do I use for the rear deferencial ? Also I just bought a Ebay intake plus NGK wires and Iridium spark plugs BUT I forgot in which order the spark wires go !!!
I ordered some FMIC off ebay that was 28x12x3 and a manifold that looked alrite with lifetime warranty ( Not SSautochrome even though I find nothing bad about them ). I was going for a downpipe but it turns out that the Apexi exhaust came with a 3" downpeipe so I am glad its 1 thing I dont have to buy.

Also, I am getting the car tuned next week and I hope that I have some time slips for you guys because I will be running it right after I get it tuned.
By the way, is it better to have 2.5" or 3" intercooler piping all around or ?

Thanks

The differential uses the same fluid as the tranny.

3'' intercooler piping will move more air. If there is a 3' outlet on the intercooler go with that, if it's a 2.5 outlet on the intercooler go with the 2.5

Re: The GSX is apart, need some help.

Don not use iridium plugs in a turbo car. They are shit, you should be replacing your plugs every oil change anyhow and i doubt you want to spend that much every time. My brother had ngk iridiums in and his car stumbled wierd, someone suggested plugs so he got a new set (this was over a years ago and it was $60+ per set) still happened so he replaced the coil. Ended up that $5 worht of genuine ngk bpr7es's did the job.

the order from the coil is 4123 and the engine left(drivers side) to right(passengers side) is 1234

If you haven't been running synthetic before, I wouldn't suggest swapping over. Just keep running what you have been running and you shouldn't have any problems. I've had problems with two motors after switching from regular to synthetic.

switching from conventional to syntethic doesnt do anything to your motor. People assoiate synethic oils to causing leaks, well they dont, what the do is clean the motor better exposing spots that would have leaked but were covered by gunk. I've done countless hours of research on this subject and I also had to take a class on oil for my ase certification

Re: The GSX is apart, need some help.

Do not use 3" intercooler piping, that's too much volume to us. 2.5" is plenty

I recommend synthetic oil and fix any leaks that arise from the switch.

Re: The GSX is apart, need some help.

OK i just got some chrome 2.5 pipes from my friend's dad store. I'll use one of those bending machine they sell at Home Depot or something. The intercooler is on the way. The turbo however was oily, the car has been running synthetic for 5 years, but I did not notice to burn any oil.

I guess my question is this. I got the pipes. What shape am I suppost to bend em ? I mean I searched around here and there, and I found that there are long or short intercooler kits but since I would like to do one myself I just didnt know how to set it up.
I looked at people's intercooler kits and its like 4 peipes but can you guys give me a website or directions to how many pipes I need and which way would it need to be bended.

Re: The GSX is apart, need some help.

Get a tape measure and try to create the shortest pipe routing possible.

You know that chrome is going to blue when you weld the BOV flange on right.

Re: The GSX is apart, need some help.

I don't know if those benders will work on 2.5" piping. Also they do not mandrel bend the tubes which i'm not sure how big of a difference it will make.
