1994 Bonneville Cam Shaft position sensor

Can anyone give me some tips on replacing the Cam shaft position sensor? Where it is? And how to remove it?

Thanks!

The cam shaft sensor is located behind the water pump pulley. One bolt that holds it in place

It is on the front of the engine on the aluminum timing chain cover, jack up car remove RF wheel. You can find the cam position sensor on the Timing Chain Cover.

Re: 1994 Bonneville Cam Shaft position sensor

If reference to the harmonic balancer, it is between 10 o'clock and 11 o'clock. There is a magnet in the cam gear that is what the cam sensor gets it's signal from which could be missing causing your Cam Sensor code. Be sure to roll the engine over by hand while the cam sensor is out and make sure the magnet is still in there. It is held in the gear by a small plastic cage that can fall apart from and cause it to go bye-bye.
