Bummer Troy. Sounds like GM put a fail timer in the tranny. Mileage is about right. We get a lot of tranny failures around this time of year. So what do you plan on doing. Unlike a lot of us at least you're a tranny tech.

I'm going to pull it out get it on the bench and open it up & clean stuff up. Will be installing NEW PCS, Input drum bearings, Planetary bearing, Finish up the transgo shift kit, Shift solenoids, input clutch piston, 4th clutch shaft. Probably won't do a re-seal or put new clutches or steels in (depends how stuff looks I guess). All the gaskets and seals I will need can be purchased separately. A good way to kill a couple of days. Should make it a good solid unit I wana keep it till its got 130K.

Nice to have the know how to just do all that stuff while you are at it.
Us non-tranny people have to pay you to do it for us . Speaking of which, how many drive cycles does it usually take after a TAPS reset for everything to be back to normal? My 65E just has its PCS changed a couple weeks ago and it will shift with higher pressure, especially on the 1-2. Everythings probably normal but I am the most paranoid SOB on the planet when it comes to this car

I guess on a scale of 1-10, shifting feels like a 3-4. I can tell when it goes into overdrive and when the TCC unlocks at 45mph.
However, I think I am just simply being more aware of things and assume that you shouldn't feel anything when the car shifts. The technicians said during replacement that everything looked fine mechanically from the drive test, when the pan was dropped for PCS replacement to the final drive test after replacement. Like I said, there's a 99% chance it's me.

New hardened slpine 4th shaft YIPPY. With out the 4th shaft no OD yep. I would say it was 85% worn on the spline area I should get a picture and post it here. how do you post a picture round here anyways.
And to jessep28, the shifts are going to feel better cuz you have better pressure rise just when the shift happens as long as its not to harsh don’t worry be happy.

Yea I really don't think it would of made 100K the splines are really thin. I'll see what I can do tonight.
