How Do You Avoid Cops?

I am sure that everyone here has a radar but in addition to that what else do you do to ensure that there is a cop patrollin near by. How often do you check in your rear view mirror? Are your eyes always looking for dem c0pz?

l drive without radar detector.. in the USA. to avoid them is kinda hard.. but if u would be in europe and have trans am.. just cover your plate and play with them cat-mouse

I can avoid speeding tickets, so long as i'm not coerced into racing some doofus in a Charger, by looking in the rearview mirror often. I try not to speed too much. I'll usually bring the car up to 75-80mph on the freeway when conditions permit so.

I can't avoid the no front license plate tickets though.

Seriously, it must be even harder after your car has windows that are tinted. So, when you see a cop, do u just roll the windows down? Or you take it like a MAN? Cops around my neighborhood are kinda strict and their worst enemies are sports cars. They always stare at me when im drivin . I dont own a radar either but i will want one of those escorty ones. My record is clean s0 far and i drive with eXtreme caution when im speeding!

I haven't really ever been hassled driving the T/A.
Pulled over twice. Once for no front plate, and once for jackrabbit acceleration. No tickets.

Drive smart. Isn't that hard. I have a pretty fast car and have no problems keeping it right around the speed limit.

Yes.. that is why i see that you have topped your car at 167mph! No offence here but that sure is way above the limit. Hah. And by the way, i am talking about your avatar Mr Luos if you havent figured it out. But its all good. When you got a beast like that of yours, its hard to stick to the speed limit!

l have been driving in the usa 8-9 months with my formula, l drive careful.. and follow the traffic. l dont really look at the speed limits.. l look at the traffic and keep up with them..
with T/A l got pulled once and the cop told me he has been behin of me since exit 29 and we were at exit 34 (at 03:30 am) he told me that my car's tires went to another lane twice. and he checked if l was drunk but l wasnt.. actually l was on cruise control and talking to a friend in the car. and trying to find a station on radiao.
THE ONLY THING THAT I WOULD NEVER DO IS DRIVE DRUNK. and he saw that l wasnt and let me go.. thats it..

The fucking skip shift in my car got me pulled over couple times.

I drive 60 miles a day, a lot of that is on the Florida turnpike, at 90 mph or more. No radar. Never got a ticket, never been pulled over. Have tints that are illegal as hell (bought it that way). To avoid tickets, at least on the highway, you have to watch your rear view almost as much as the road ahead. Brake a little on hills and corners. Detectors won't help you much with lasers, which is what many police departments use these days. Know your unmarked police cars, which usually have dark tints to hide their lights. Any Crown Victoria with a black grill is a police package. Even Taurus's and Impalas are suspect. Big domestic SUV's are another one to watch. Watch for oncoming traffic with their headlights on in the daytime (especially semi trucks), they're trying to tell you something. It all comes down to common sense, keep your eyes open. Good luck.

The VERY best way to avoid them is to race AT THE TRACK! As an old-time "street racer", I often wonder how I made it this age without either major legal issues, or just "dead" from a crash. The worst racing-related ticket I ever got was "parking in the roadway". That was in Napa in '75. We were ready to "launch" (a euphamism on street tires) when we saw them (the CHP) come over the hill, about a mile behind us. Just shut the engines off.

I go "home" from time to time, and look at the city streets (downtown San Bernardino) where we used actually get into 3rd gear! OH MY GOD!!! How did we EVER survive...? Anyone else out there remember playing tag on "E" Street, and then going over to "D" for the "real" race?
Berdoo was (in the '60s and '70s, during the "Street Machine Wars") among the street-racing capitals of the world, as we had some GREAT places (one of which still exists) to race semi-safely. Today, the city hosts "Route 66 Rondevoux", one of the larger car "shows" on the planet, lending credence to that last statement, AND sporting the first "franchised" McDonald's (MAJOR hang out). Guys would come up from Van Nuys and L.A. to lose their money... Happened a lot more often than not.

I will never see it though. Fastest I have had it is about 130.
I figure however fast it will go in the 1/4 mile is about as fast as it needs to go.

I doubt my car will top out all that high, as the 4.10 gearing is just too steep for highway runs.

Very good advice. I know a lot of people in the legal business, cops and judges. You'd be surprised how willing they can be to give you a break if you just don't act like a jerk, or deny that you were doing something wrong. Cops don't like it when you act like they are blind and/or stupid. The other thing is that most people that go to court look like crap. Dress up! Show some respect for the court and the people there. If you look and act like trash you can bet you'll be treated like it.
