97 v6 Tacoma CHECK ENGINE codes....

Ok... my friends truck has been giving her problems. Its been shifting really rough and spitting out smoke.

She took it to autozone and they told her... "cylinder 2 has misfired twice and the oxygen circut has a low response (bank 1, sensor1) "

I have worked on cars for a little while now but would not consider myself an expert in any way.

Was wondering if anyone could tell me the easiest way to solve this problem. If its just the o2 sensor that would be sooo great but I don't know if that would cause a misfire or not.

Thank you guys for your help!

Travis.

Question Re: 97 v6 Tacoma CHECK ENGINE codes....

the O2 senser tells the computer what the fuel mix is doing, rich or lean, and adjust's it accordingly i believe?
the misfire, could be caused by a bad wire or fouled/worn spark plug, i'd start with a tune up, and go from there
