QUestion about using different plugs (1 different spark plug)

Hello

I had replaced plugs in my 96 riviera non supercharged.

Unfortunately i cracked the insulator on plug # 1 and had to replace it. What happened is this

I now have 5 BOSCH SUPERS and 1 BOSCH PLATINUM in cylinder # 1. Both are the cheapest plugs from the series. My question is it bad to use one plug different from the others. I do not notice any performance change (well ofcourse it is much better than the misfiring broken one) but the plugs' designs are different. SHould I put a proper one in there?

thanx,

Re: QUestion about using different plugs (1 different spark plug)

i would at least make sure the plug tip is the same all around so you dont get hot spots in one of the cyl. ie all platniums, coppers, etc. the +2 or +4 botch has isnt really that different on a normal car. you may not notice the difference at low rpm but durring WOT (wide open throttle) one of the plugs may fire more rapidly/hotter than the others...im not sure if its that bad but worse case senario is you get engine knock so i would stick with all the same plugs and all the same heat range.

thanx,

My expereince with Bosch plugs has been bad. I even had one where the center electrode melted and bridged to the ground electrode. My 2 cents.
