2001 Wndstar altenator

Where do I have to look to see how many amps has my alternator. I cannot see it on the top maybe I have to lift it from the engine.
Auto part stores has 115, 130, or 135 Amp. are these different models can interchange. My van is an LX model with the basic equipement in it

If you van has the basic equipment then it is probably the lowest amp offered, some are interchangeable but some aren't, if the parts guy that you were talking to is smart enough then he will be able to tell you that. As far as where to find it, there should be a tag or it is stamped in the casting, most are stamped in the casting. By the way, I just looked in my parts book and it only shows one option for an alternator 135 amp, so if they are showing more than one option then either they are interchangeable or the guy is a dump @ss.

Another easy way is to go on a ford dealers parts search and type in your vin number it will come up with what you need. Then you can find the amp rating.. Hope this helps.
