Exclamation big problem and I need help

Well Alot of you have kept up with my posts on my car and if any of you remember in my last post I said it was running pretty shitty and I thought it was the untuned 550s. Well I threw in some 450s today and The plan was to just drive it with those untill I got a wideband and then throw the 550s back in. Well it ran almost exactly the same with 450s and the afc zero'd out as with 550s with a shitty tune. This leads to to think the problem is somewhere else in the fuel system, but all I changed was the filter. Basically it has bad throttle responce in netural and its super doggy under load. I could barly make it up a hill in first at wot. when I am crusing at 30 in thrid it runs perfect but if I give it any more gas the timing goes way retarded, at wot it went to -17 degrees(retarded). All I did for the record was a head job(grind valves and seats), got the head ported(mild), fmic, and a ported 16g. Thats all I changed. Any ideas?

Re: big problem and I need help

yeah, it seems to spit and spudder while boosting and is super doggy when not. The guys at tuners said to look for a crimped fuel line.

Re: big problem and I need help

ok I figured out the ignition timing is really retarded and I cant figure why since you cant adjust base timing on a 2g. My thought is the knock sensor is decting a phantom knock so the ecu is retarding timing and you can watch the timing on my logget go from 22 advanced at idle to 14 retarded at wot and ideas?

Why can you not adjust the base timing on the 2g? I don't know much about the 2g.

I would imagine that you could put it to TDC and adjust the timing that way?

Maybe your CAS is fubar

Re: big problem and I need help

on a 95 the cas sits behind the intake cam gear and is in a fixed location therefore you cant adjust base timing with it. The sensor itself is brand new.

Re: big problem and I need help

Put on a fuel pressure gauge and check it under different loads. Idle, half-throttle, under power.

Re: big problem and I need help

already tried that. At idle its 45psi but since my car wont go faster than 30 mph and I cant boost and cant tell what it goes to then

Re: big problem and I need help

Well I'm thinking then it's somewhere else than fuel related. Better hope you got the angle on those valves perfect and your problem isn't occurring somewhere in the head after all that work. Other than that I don't know what to tell you.

Re: big problem and I need help

checked and double checked. I guess it is possible that it maybe off but it would be a MAX of 1 tooth but I'm sure its dead on. I already did a leakage test and everything is sealed. As far as the fuel I've pretty much ruled it out. I know there is pressure getting to the motor and it is possible that there isnt enough volume but I didnt change anything with that so I dont see how it all the sudden changed
