Hello everyone, thanks for all who read and help me out here!
FOr about 2 weeks now my car gets charged and dies overnight. I have an Amp hooked up, but I have checked all the wires, and even rewired the whole thing. The power wire is covered so it's not touching anything hot. I was assuming that this was the problem, but I don't think it is anymore. What else could be draining the power? Anyone have any ideas or have had similar problems? thanks for any help! |

Re: Car Dies overnight... please help
Could it be that your battery is just dead? Do you have a remote wire hooked into your head unit so the amp shuts off when the car is off?

I do have a remote wire hooked up. Also the battery is only about 5 month's old, I don't think it's the battery, but i guess it could be. |

Re: Car Dies overnight... please help
You have a parasitic draw somewhere. To test it you need a multimeter and you put it in series between the ground wire and the negative battery termanal and basically start pulling fuses untill you can figure out whats staying on. Obviously there is alot more to it and if you cant find any info on it let me know and I can go into more detail as I'm sure many others here can also

Ok, how exactly do you go about using a Multimeter?

Set it to ohms, put between negative power cable and negative post, remove fuses. I would have someone who knows what they're doing check it out but if you're confident you can do it go for it. |

Re: Car Dies overnight... please help
This should be obvious but your remote is hooked to the back of the deck right and not the battery?

Re: Car Dies overnight... please help
I know he said he did have a remote wire hooked up but he didn't specify where, I'm just making sure it's in the back of the head unit and not the battery, which could cause the battery to die overnight.

Re: Car Dies overnight... please help
Give me a little credit here, my remote wire is hooked to be the back of the Stereo unit.
