Don't forget the non-vtec version of the F23 offered that year that only makes 135 hp and 145 ft/lbs of torque. This engine is only offered on some sedan models.

The non VTEC f23 is only mated with the dx and the vp (i think the vp). he said lx so it should be f23 VTEC.

Well, I guess I have to say that it is not a true SE because the SE should come with f23 VTEC.

Coupe: http://www.hondacars.com/models/acco.../features.html

Sedan: http://www.hondacars.com/models/acco.../features.html

But then again, it may be, it shouldn't because Honda doesn't mate that engine with the SE but...
