280zx turbo vs 3000GT & Turbo'ed Civic :)

Hey all,

Last night after work I was crusin around town like usual looking for a ricer to pick on, I found a 3000GT SL (not VR4)... We were in a turn lane turning onto one of the main roads, he kept inching up on the red light, so I was pretty sure he wanted to go... Long story short, Light turned green, I took him off the line, he was a ways back, and I let him catch up, I would floor it from about 3k rpms in 3rd gear, but he kept pulling on me... Guess he was faster... But I took him off the line...

Here is the interesting part... We both slow down, and he turns left to go into Target or something, and I stay in the lane behind a few cars at a red light, light turns green and I start to go and I hear a "whooop" sound... you know that noise cops make when they flip their siren thing?

He pulls me over and comes to the car. I say "whats wrong officer" Acting innocent, he asks for my liscense and registration, I say "Why officer, what did I do?" He tells me its for a "Speed Contest with a black sedan"

Anyways, I kept refusing saying I wasn't racing, or speeding, and I don't know what hes talking about... He takes my stuff, comes back and says "You need to slow down"

Haha, I thought I was fucked... after that, on my way home I came across a Civic sedan with a turbo... I could hear his blow off valve... He smoked my ass... Bad ass car tho...

That cop thing scared the shit outta me... He said "I don't know which other car you were racing, but its pretty easy to identify a red 280zx"

I'm glad I didn't get a ticket, If I had, I probably wouldn't have a liscense right now

Thus is why I am very careful when I race. I once had a cop pull me over when I had my 85 Jeep, he didn't give a ticket, and he was a cool guy. In fact he comes into the gas station where I was working at the time and even remembered my name. He then asks where my Jeep was. I told him what had happened to it and he asked what I was driving now, I reluctantly pointed to my GTC. He says, well shit, you'll be easy to spot. I replied, only if you catch me.

Nice races man, good kill.

Heh, what happened to your jeep?

I really don't expect to be let off if I ever get caught again... Just gotta be more careful I guess, keep it to backroads and all that...

I was crusin around at about 10:30 last night, and there were tons of cops... and this was a sunday... guess they are cracking down or something

I threw a rod. That engine was just a piece of shit.

I will now exclaim my hatred for the Chevy 2.8L V6. It has to be one of the worst engines ever built.

Ah, that feels better.

Heh, I know how that goes... I threw a rod in my Mom's '83 4wd Toyota Tercel Wagon... But thats because the motor had 100something thousand miles, and I was already right before the redline and floored it to pass some guy...

Tons of sparks and smoke came flying out... I thought "Gee maybe I broke a belt or a hose" I was so dumb back then...
