Exclamation HELP!! 1995 s-10 Blazer 4.3 Vortec won't start in morning.

This is really bugging me. I've changed fuel filter, plug wires, cap & rotor. Last tune up in 2005. Fuel pump and injector also 2005. 130,000 miles. VIN W. Engine turns over fine, but it just won't catch.... until it feels like doing so. Usually after about 5 or 6 tries. I'm worried on burning out starter, etc. No smell of gasoline under hood.
Before I go further on repairs, I'm hoping to get a few ideas. Have any??

Once it finally starts up, runs great as long as NOT sitting for 8 hours or so.

Re: HELP!! 1995 s-10 Blazer 4.3 Vortec won't start in morning.

My 95 did the exact same thing, for me it was the fuel pump.

There should be a smell of gasoline if fuel is getting to the engine. Double check the fuel pump, relays. (check the fuel pressure) There is a test lead for the fuel pump by the driver side fender. (use a 10amp fuse between it and the positive terminal of the batery), hooking this up will bypass the relays and just make the pump go, if you don't smell a bit of gas or hear the pump going then that is your culprit (could be a loose wire too). Just because parts are new, doesn't mean they don't break down. If it is the fuel pump, and it is fairly new, need to trouble shoot why it died so quickly. DO you always have fuel in your tank, or is it down to a qurter tank or less a lot of the times? Do you let it reach empty all the time? The pump is submersed in the fuel for cooling, and it will over heat and die if there isn't any fuel to cool it.

Just my 2 cents again, XPC.

Do a quick search for your problem too, there are many threads already with
this problem / solutions. Trouble shooting is too much fun...

$183 later, problem is fixed. It was the pump. KEEP TANK HALF OR MORE FULL.

Check your cold start fuel pressure and post back pressure readings.
If they are not up tp specs 55/61 lbs of fuel pressure it will nor squirt injectors.
You need 60 lbs of fuel pressure on the cold start up.
