GM front brakes
Do the 97+ GP still have a problem with the front brake cailpers getting sticky. My old 95 did the same thing pisses me off. you come up to a stop and you ERRR ERRR ERRR. And no the brake pads are not worn out

Re: GM front brakes
that sounds more like a warped rotor than a stuck caliper

Re: GM front brakes
Actually, it sounds like either cheap brake pads or improper rotor surface preparation. A sticky caliper would either make the car pull to one side, or it would screech when the brakes aren't applied.

I'd suspect the quality of pads and rotors. But it doesn't hurt to remove the calipers and perform a closer inspection just in case.

Re: GM front brakes
95 would do the exact same thing on would pull to the right but this one both front calipers do it. The rotors are not warped no vibration when stopping I could see cheap A#$ pads doing it, but I don't know who did the previous brake work.

Re: GM front brakes
Not to change the subject Bob but, Went to Minneapolis (85% 75mph other 15% slower and intown) this weekend going up driving into 20-30mph winds averaged 25.7 MPG coming back 27.2 5-15mph wind off to the side. Average for the whole trip 26.2 I was impressed no more of that 22 crap!, so far.

Re: GM front brakes
The best I can say on the brakes is disassemble like Bob said and inspect the pads for big pieces of metal (cheap pads don't use an even sized metallic particle, I've seen chunks the size of a peanut) that will cause a horrible noise.
