Turn Signal Flasher

I was sold this Flasher from Checker Auto for my 1999 Monte Carlo http://www.rockauto.com/ref/SMP/SMPD....html?EFL5.jpg

After some searching for the location in the car where this little devil might be, It was indicated that it was under the dash on the drivers side close to the stearing column.
Took off the the panel underneath the dash & the fire resistant covering & twisted myself in a pretzel trying to locate this little box.
Unable to find it .
Anyone have any Ideas?

Re: Turn Signal Flasher

I have a 98 monte and the blinker switch has given me a multitude of problems: brake lights go out, blinkers don't stay on when you use them, hazard light won't work. However, I have worked around these issues and without replacing the switch I've gotten my brake lights to work, my hazards to work and my blinkers to work. In my case, fiddling with the hazard switch (removed my button long ago) got the brake lights working again. Also, simply pulling the dimmer switch on the blinker before turning the blinker on enables the blinker to work normally for awhile. Hope this helps some people that don't have the time/money to waste replacing that control box that is nearly impossible to get to. Sorry I can't help with the other common problems, such as: manifold gaskets melting (they're plastic!) or stalling. These cars are problematic compared to other chevy cars I've owned. Good luck every1.
