Hello all, my wife has a 95 Nissan Quest, and lately it has been overheating with the AC on at idle. Today it spewed anti-freeze all over, and it looked like it came from under the radiator cap. It does not overheat at idle with the AC off. Any suggestions?

Re: 1995 Quest Overheats with AC on at idle
how many miles. T-stat ever been changed , Water pump? It could be an air pocket causing the over heating, but i f you are seeing antifreeze on the ground i would trace the leak , correct it, bleed coolant system recheck.

Re: 1995 Quest Overheats with AC on at idle
I would bet your overheating due to an air pocket. Or when you have your AC on do your fans go on .. you have a low and a high speed. Make sure fans are operating properly also check what that leak was and first that. Check hoses and such. Then bleed coolant system . Have you ever changed your Water pump and t-stat? how many miles you have on vech? .. anyway good luck ..

Re: 1995 Quest Overheats with AC on at idle
The van has 97k miles on it. We bought it about 2 yrs ago from an elderly couple that babied it, so the water pump, t-stat, etc. may have been changed. We do have records of repairs somewhere. In the mean time, I will bleed, flush, and refill the coolant. I'll also check to see if the AC fans are kicking on properly. If im getting a high pressure "blow-out" from under the radiator cap, should I replace that? Thanks
