Okay, so yesterday, i called up the shop that installed my clutch kit and told them that I still have that awful noise comming from my transmission that goes away when i press on the clutch. (see link above for more info) Well ofcouse he says that they replaced everythang that came with the clutch kit (clutch, throw-out, ect....) it was an R & R kit by the way. So i start to inquire about a tranny rebuild and he says there really isn't a need for that since i just replaced my clutch. So, then he says "I noticed you have a amp in your car.. maybe your alternator is going bad".. okay, The noise that i'm hearing sounds like its comming from the transmission... right under the battery. the noise goes away when i press on the clutch.. hmm.. clutch and alternator. To me that doesn't add up. The noise did not surface untill i got my transmission serviced. Besides, the alternator is on the other side of the engine. whey the hell would the noise be comming from under the battery. Is this making much since at all or could he be right?? EDIT::There is also friction when i shift into second. All the other gears shift smoothly, but second is stuborn sometimes.

Re: Does this make any sense at all???
my foasgate amp, made a whining noise when it was burning out along with my alternator. However i don't think that is the problem you have, is there any other time it stops whining or making noise?

Re: Does this make any sense at all???
So the noise was there before the clutch job but after you had the tranny worked on? What were they doing on the tranny? From the previous post you make it sound like the tranny was serviced then you had the noise then choose to have the clutch replaced, but the noise is still there? So what your saying is that it seems like they never changed the throw out bearing?

Re: Does this make any sense at all???
when they did a transmission service..all they did was change the fluid.. then the next day this noise starts to happen. so about a week later i take the car to the shop to have the clutch replaced (because i was told it was the throw out bearing..) well appearently it wasn't because i still have the noise.. as a matter of fact its worst.

Re: Does this make any sense at all???
I wonder if they did a trans. flush. Even if they didnt, the fluid change may have stirred up all the crap in the trans. and caused the noise.

Re: Does this make any sense at all???
Thats why I dont go to shops no more. They fix something, something else breaks and then they fix whatever breaks for 5x what the previous thing costed. When I had my owd Eclipse, I had my water pump replaced by a shop, i ran into so many problems after they changed it. Like the whole car started falling apart. Later one of my fiends told me his dad used to work there, they fix something but break something else so you go back there to fix it
. I was sooo pissed. Its really funny that you started having problems after they serviced it. And they also replaced your clutch . Now they want to repalce your alternator and later your engine. BASTARDS

Is it a click, a clack, a tunk, a rubbing, or like a grind?

Re: Does this make any sense at all???
Well, manual transmitions are not that hard to take apart. And if you say its coming from the transmition for sure then its the transmition not the alternator. Its really hard to figuer out whats going on without looking at it but I would suggest maybe go to some one who knows what they are talking about and that he looks at it. A transmition is not that complicated at all, but its hard to find a problem without actually looking at it and hearing the noise.
