2002 corolla
the rubber surrounding my front right brake caliper piston has a small tear. it was pinched while i carelessly compressed the piston back into the caliper body. this happened when i replaced the pads at 60K (3years ago).
i have experienced no leaks or problems.
fast forward to today at 121K. i replaced the pads again. while i was compressing the piston into the caliper body (carefully this time), brake fluid started to seep out around the piston. i am guessing it is coming from the tear in the surrounding rubber. this did not happen the first time.
i fully installed the caliper, pumped the brake pedal several times and road tested the car around the block and no leaks are visible and the pedal stays hard.
is the caliper going to be okay?
