Update on my car

My FMIC is on and I have the boost up to 16psi on my T28. I deffinatly feel the increase in power. My car feels like it pulls the same at 13psi with the fmic as it did at 15psi w/o the fmic. However, if I don't let my car warm up a good 5-10 minutes before going full throttle past about 5K I hit fuel cut. I am not 100% sure why it doesn't hit fuel cut once it is warmed up but, I think it is because the upper ic pipes are cold when it starts making the intake air much colder therefore giving me more airflow. I guess once my car warms up those pipes warm up a bit. Secondly, I had to do a little "rigging" because of the T28 turbo. So I ended up using two pieces of that rubber tubing to make a U bend and I used a straight metal pipe to connect the two rubber pipes. Unfourtunatly only one side of that metal pipe is flared so the other side slips off after full boosting for awhile. I have been calling around to try and get a place to flare the other side for me but, no luck yet.

On a side note I did get my pocket logger up and running and after turning my boost up to 16 I did a quick run but didn't let my car warm up enough. I hit a peak airflow of 30.9 at around 5.5 - 6 rpms before I hit fuel cut

I am in the process of finding a good fuel pressure regulator so I can install my 650cc injectors. And I found a shop that will do some road tuning(no awd dyno within 1.5 hours) for me for $60 and hour.

Re: Update on my car

did you boost leak test it after the install. I was hitting what I thoughwas fuel cut for a while and it turned out to be a boost leak so I would try that

Re: Update on my car

hell that is cheap. Around here its $180 an hour with an awd dyno and it usually takes at least 2 hours

Re: Update on my car

Well I am in the process of building a boost leak tester but, it would be pointless right now because of the one unflared pipe I know it would blow there. Once I get that fixed I will boost leak test it. I am thinking it is fuel cut because it is basically like hitting a brick wall then my car is fine. Unlike when the pipe slides off and my car hits a brick wall then sputters around a bit then adventually dies. And because I am on the stock injectors running 16psi on a T28 with a fmic it wouldn't be unlikely to hit fuel cut.

Yeah $60 an hour is ridiculous but, I need it done. $180 DAMN, the same guy who is going to road tune my car said he has a friend who owns an awd dyno and does tuning for $100 an hour.

Re: Update on my car

if it was a boost leak it would do the same thing.

Re: Update on my car

$60 an hour isn't expensive, at the shop i work at we charge $75-90 an hour. Sounds like a good deal as far as labor rates go, if it's a good shop.

Re: Update on my car

Yeah it is a decent shop. I met this guy one night while cruisen. He builds dsms for a living. He also let me know he can get me dsm link for 300 bucks. He told me if I need any parts to let him know because he will sell the parts to people for about the same price as he gets them. He said he tries to make all of his money on labor. He says if people realize they can get cheap parts from him then they will keep coming back. The shop is called High PSI motorsports btw.
