5.8 Liter in S10?

I work for the city, and one of the city vehicles is an old 1990 single cab F-250, and it has a 5.8L engine in it. Now, the body is getting ragged out, but the engine runs smooth as silk. How would an engine like this do inside an S10? (because in the Ford, it's got a s***load of power)

People that have done the swap love it.

Although with the rising cost of fuel it's almost stupid to want to V8 anything now. Unless you own several shares in a gas company

It can't get much worse mileage than the 4.3L, can it? My 4.3 gets about 19mpg. I've heard the 5.8 gets around 17.

big moter, little truck, better gas mileage then the 4.3, trust me, it does, but to convert to a ford moter, im sure it is possible, but no where near worth it unless you have a lot of money and a lot of time on your hands, all 5 or 6 wiring harnesses, body computer, transmission, pcm, a lot of work, wait for the sbc running good in the junk body
