What should I do?!
I appologize up front for the lengthy post...
Okay, I have a major relationship dillema... On Wednesday night, I was out at a bar, and I ended up sitting next to a girl who was on a date with another guy (he was 30, she's 22). Anyways, about halfway through the evening she starts talking to me, and told me how she just wished she could get rid of the guy she was with. Apparently, it was their first date, and she was not diggin' a 30 year old. Anyways, we ended up chatting the rest of the evening (much to her date's chagrin), and we really hit it off. She's a great girl. So, she tells me that she likes me and wants to hang-out. She asked me if I'd go back to the same bar on Monday. I said yes, she said she'd be there, we even "pinky-swore" on it. Now, here's the problem... My girlfriend is in Texas for another 2 weeks. Now, don't get me wrong, I have absolutely NO intention of cheating on my girlfriend. I just want to hang out with this girl as a friend (although, if I was single, I wouldn't hesitate to date her). She does not know that I have a girlfriend (the subject did not come up). If my girlfriend found out that I'd eventalked to a girl at a bar she would absolutely FREAK! I didn't get her phone-number, so I can't call her to tell her this... So my question is this... Do I show up on monday or ditch her (remember I pinky-swore). If I show up, do I tell her straight off the bat that I have a girlfriend (I don't know what her intentions for our relationship are, wether she wants to date or hang-out like she said)? Should I show up and not tell her I have a girlfriend so as not to spoil the evening? Or should I tell her if the subject arises (or she goes to kiss me or something)? I've decided that whatever gets voted for on this poll will be my course of action, so don't screw me! :finger:

If this new 'friend' is willing to dump a date by mid-evening it shows a total shallowness,and lack of respect for the ground rules.How can you be sure that she won't shit on you just as quickly?
You have a serious relationship,one that you clearly value.Don't screw it up for the sake of two weeks company.Be absolutely straight with the new friend,and don't fall into the trap of thinking that you can run with both.If your girlfriend can provide for all of your needs,there ia absolutely no excuse for not being true to her for two weeks.If you are not,you are an utter creep and deserve all the grief that comes with infidelity.

Sounds like your current g/f is really, restrictive?
Just go and see what happens, if it comes up, then tell her and let bi-gons be bi-gons(did I just use that term?). You don't even know her....so just let thing s flow, to early in the game to tell.

Tell her if the need arises. Theres nothing wrong with another friend. and if she gets angry that you didn't tell her, then she's probably not worth it. I don't mean to sound nasty or anything. but thats the way I'd play it.

If I accepted every "what do I do" post at face value,I could torture myself indefinitely about the moral dilemmas facing the younger generation.So I just call it how I see it,once all the noble bull has been stripped away.
And if you don't want to get involved with this new girl,she sounds like easy meat...give her my number....0800-TARANAKI

Dude - you put yourself in a hole. Even if you ditch her, you should never have agreed to meet up with this girl without first telling her about your girlfriend and letting your girlfriend know. Think of how you'd react to this scenario if your girlfriend was doing this down in Texas. My guess is that you'd be pleanty pissed off. Dont go. Blow it off. Dont go back to that bar again if you can avoid it.
Otherwise, you might as well go looking for a new GF and dont pick this shallow bimbo who flirts with another guy while *on* a date.

There’s nothing wrong with being friends with her. Just don’t string her along and let her know that you have a girlfriend if the subject/occasion comes up.
