I have a friend with a '93 3000GT VR4. We're wondering if it is possible to open up the stock BOV's for better sound. At first we couldn't hear them. We just recently added an aftermarket intake, but we can only hear them a tiny little bit. Can we do some backyard mod's to them for more sound, or should we just get new ones. If so, is the turboXS RFL recommended?

I've never heard of anyone tweaking the stock BOV. You're better off getting a replacement. I've never heard a RFL but my HKS sounds pretty sweet. The Apexi is pretty nice as well.

Yes, if you pull your BOV off and reach inside the intake tubing you'll feel a little "y piece" that diverts air in both directions inside the air duct. If you pull that piece out the BOV will be a little louder.

Remove mufflers for louder exhaust too.
Personally, I'm more a fan of looking for a replacement when a part isn't up for the job. HKS is nice... I like the Blitz super sound as well. Pricey little buggers these BOV's are.

I wouldn't try to sweat the cost too much though. A new BOV will most likely be about your cheapest mod. :smoker2: later,
