I'm down with Swishahouse. Texas rap in general. I went to school with Chamillion, Paul and Mike. I think it's funny that everyone is now using Paul's phrase of "What it do". He was saying that freestyling at lunch in high school.

I think they could have handled the Chamillion deal better though. He has so much talent and they just looked over him like he was nothing. I hope he Paul and Mike can put their disagreements aside and release a killer album in the future.

i think Chamillionaire got spits but i dont think Mike Jones or Paul Wall do. I still like Mike Jones though for whatever reason.

Yea, im down with all texas music, im big on older shit like DJ Screw too. But Chamillionaire?! Are you serious? I think he sucks. His older stuff with Paul Wall was ok but now...damn i cant even stand his voice, and he looks like a weasel. But Paul Wall and Mike Jones got that hot flow. Especially Paul.

Chamillion's lyric are far superior. His new album isn't it as hard as I thought it would have been. But he has to do that whole more pop thing for mainstream. Pauls whole album, unfortunately is all the same. Drank and grilles. No substance. His older shit was far superior. Back when he wasn't into drugs and drink. Jones, is the weakest. Not terrible, but his freestyle skills are severly lacking.

Yea, you bring up a good a good point. Paul was great back in the day, but now i think he does rap about the same type of stuff, but thats just the type of stuff i like thats why i think he is one of the best. But yea your right Mike Jones sucks at freestyle skills, but he has good tracks.

Definately. I this Mike has some good stuff out, just not the songs they play on the radio. Still Tippin is still one of the hottest beats around. One thing I've noticed about Texas rappers as opposed to a lot of others is that they are all very smart. They all finished high school with good grades and attendance, never caused problems really.

Yea Mike Jones has a lotta good albums. I don't even listen to the radio to hear music from tha South. And if i do listen to the radio its XM, like Choppaholix, Paul Wall from the Gridiron, and Down radio. Yea I've noticed that a lotta Pauls older stuff had some very clever rhymes, now it still is but its to an extent. And also in his older ones he was so good that he didnt even swear much but now thats also to an extent.

Yea still tippin has a hot beat and hook, but there are some other beats that can top that one tho. But its still a hot track.

That's one reason why Cham and him had a falling out. Paul never use to drink or do drugs from what I understand. My friend that grew up with them said Paul was raised in a pretty strict Christian home. I know some of his old stuff he even mentions this. From a few of the interviews I've read with Cham, he talks about how he just changed dramatically. He doesn't come right out and say it, but you get the jist of the message.

damn that shit about paul wall is funny as fuck to me. dude was raised in a strict christian home, didnt drink or do drugs, graduated high school, shit....shit does not happen like that over here in the bay when it comes to rappers. (the bay is oakland, san francisco, richmond, vallejo, pittsburg, ssf, epa, san jose and more, California for those who aint knowin). shit is real thug out here even the white rappers are mostly street as fuck (young dru, killa klump). i think there is one white rapper that i know of thats hella corny like Paul Wall his name is Kobe Soz and he sucks wayyy worse than Paul Wall does. but damn, maybe thats what we need out here is everyone to stay in school and stop flippin ki's and bricks at least until they have a High School diploma. lol. shit probably wont help the murder rate but somethin needs to change. maybe if everyone got their education they'd all be soft like these Houston cats. that would make for a lot shittier rap scene but shit might get safer. I would take that trade off any day.

Haha. Pauls raps really aren't corny, but either the mainstreams changed his lyrics are personally or through the record label. His freestyles are really sick. As 90Buick agreed with me, his older stuff is just crazy. They should have had him freestyle on Wild N Out.

Man the majority of rappers in Houston all graduated with the grads too. I was watching something on the net with Slim Thug and he had A's and B's, an A in Eco I know that much. These guys are just real humble and down to earth. It's my understand that you can just go up to Slim and start chatting it up with him. People say he's nice as can be. I believe it too. My friend that grew up with Paul, ran into him at a rockets game about a year and a half ago while he was promoting for SH or something. Said he remembered my friend and everything.

i know plenty of unsigned rappers that are all cool as fuck and i have met several big names and all of them are down to earth and humble as well. posing for pics with fans, just talking and shit, smoke a blunt with you,talk about whatever. i was just commenting on the staying in school and education part, its cool that H-town folks can accept people who might be a little more on the square side and live like normal people and just look at the music rather than a lot of people around here who are like "That nigga hella cheezy he stay in SAN LEANDRO, SAN LEANDRO aint ghetto blah blah blah" or "Daly City aint hard that nigga is soft blah blah" it just seems rap is much much more gangster out here, which partly i LOVE because it results in really good music, but then again it seems like a vicious cycle where people gain the fame but still stay grimey and gutter at the heart and dont lead anyone out of the hood and it breeds violence. Houston seems a little less dangerous, just curious, do you know the population and the murder count so far in 2006 for Houston? Big Trouble Little Richmond has a couple so far and they are barely over 110,000 people, Oakland is over 400,000 people and they have i think 10 or more so far.
