Re: 2001 RS question

well there's always a possibility of it being a V8, special order car etc... only way to tell for sure is to look under the hood. and yes, if it's an 01 V8 it'll be an LS1. what's the price on it?

Re: 2001 RS question

exactly. Only real way to know is to look at the motor or check the vin. Theres always someone who got a special order package that few other people got.

Re: 2001 RS question

that ss could not be ordered with the factory ground effects but the base and z28 could be ordered with them from the factory

Re: 2001 RS question

It's an RS model tho. I could be the product of an engine swap also tho.

Re: 2001 RS question

97 was the last year of the rs....i assumed by saying rs he meant it had the appearance package (cant remember the rpo for 4th gen) and z28's could be had from the factory with ground effects however the ss cannot which rules the ss out unless it's aftermarket.

Re: 2001 RS question

yeah, they do have ls1 z's with the rs kit on it, so if the guy was going by looks he may have put rs on the add, but even still it says z28 on the side of the car. but when i was looking for a car i noticed they had rs next to alot of pics that were clearly not rs cars so i think its the regular world having no clue as to what they are talking about when it comes to our cars. hell i found a add that said 2000lt1 and i was thinking wtf?? i bet its a typo, but if u go to see the car u will know once u pop the hood and see either a 3800 series 2, or an ls1 in it.

Re: 2001 RS question

haha ok that kinda helps.and theyre askin $8999.i have looked online and found a couple that are V8s but not a Z or SS.i guess i just gotta go look at it.im becoming more curious now cuz i kinda like the thought of a low option V8 car.manual windows, no leather, that kinda stuff.i do believe them that its a V8 i was just curious as to whether it may be a lower performance engine for some reason.like i said as far as i know there was only one LS1 put in the camaro.i dont expect to look and find the 4.8 thats in my truck haha.im plannin on takin a ride and lookin. ill let u know.

Remember for best results take a picture of the car's engine next time you go and post it in here and we'll tell ya if its a v6 or v8.

Re: 2001 RS question

Yeah... Rally likes to look at pic's. Just don't get anything remotely damning in the picture, like say a fart can on it, or worse yet a skid mark on the drivers seat, because these guys will ROAST you.
