Common Failure Items (Runs and Bat. goes flat)
I have one that has me totally puzzled. My Daughter has a 2001 1.8 turbo with the new body style. "At Times" the engine will stumble and die. I will get the famous call to get her. When I get there the car starts fine and will run ok for several weeks or even months again. I got the MAF code to lock in once but never again. Here is where it get interesting normally after this problem the next morning the battery is dead. I will test it and it has normal very small draw. Charge it up and it is fine once more.
Q: Is there a common component that could run the battery down and cause this random stumbling problem. Also what causes the Antislip light to come on once and a while and the only way to get it off is to turn the ign off and restart?

Re: Common Failure Items (Runs and Bat. goes flat)
Yes I did test the Alt. It checked out ok. I had them go ahead and replace the diodes just in case there was any leaking. The Bat has also been replaced and I replace the temp sensor I do not think that was related however the gauge was erratic (cured that) I may have 2 seperate problems however woinder if there is a temp sensor that maybe will cause the fans to come on when I am not around (I have never heard this happen yet) and maybe controls the run circut also.
