96 civic DX hatchback Power Steering
I have a 96 civic DX hatchback and unfortunatly, it doesn't come with power steering. Does anyone know if I can take the whole power steering kit from another civic (ex,lx,etc...) and put it on my DX? Thanks.

Re: 96 civic DX hatchback Power Steering
if i were you i wouldn't put it back on, your car isn't big enough to make power steering a necessity. It'll just take power that could be better used elsewhere. but if you must put it back on, yes you can transfer the system from another civic, the best option would be to use the system from your gen and model.

Re: 96 civic DX hatchback Power Steering
I really think that power steering is both unnecessary in that car and detracts from performance. With the manual steering I think you have a much better feel for the roadway, and It's never been a problem for me. Most people like it once they get used to it.
Of course, my first car was an 84 toyota pickup that didn't have power steering, and that thing was a royal PAIN to turn, so I guess the civic is just easy by comparison
