My RD1 Tiburon; alarm help

hey i got 98 tiburon, i dont know if you all know but they come factory with that chirping alarm, well at least mine did. So being the idiot I am, one day I set the alarm and i accidentally got water on my key ring thus making the alarm unfunctional. So, I ended up having to tow my car to the Hyundai dealer and having them disconnect the alarm system so I was able to drive the car (The engine will not start when the alarm is activated.) They said if I want to be able to use the alarm thing again, I could purchase another remote for my locks for 100 bucks. Back then I didnt want to pay 100 bucks so Ive just been driving without any alarm and what I do then is just not lock my doors ever (not smart). The reason i cant lock my doors is becasue manually turning my key in the door wll not unlock the door, it will just stay locked. So is there somewhere online I can purchase another alarm system remote for cheaper or am I better just going to the Hyundai dealer, or do I have any other better options. Your help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

if you want to use the same alarm thats on there dealer they have to program the keyless entry to your car...or you could just get a new alarm system

Getting the remote off of Ebay would be cheaper. You wouldn't be able to get an aftermarket alarm cheaper than $100.

yeah i went through this a while back if your light on your old remote still works when you press a button you can get a new remote off ebay like 15 bucks that will read and copy the command this is by hold your old remote and new one facing and hold the command and what button you want theres a few more things that are hard to explain but the instructions will give you step by step thats only if your old one still lights up ....if not your going to spend alot of time trying to find one that works with your alarm... i went through 8 remotes before i got the copy one so i suggest get it from the dealer if your old one wont light up
